Work for Peace Inc. ( WFP ) a non profit organization and Rangam Consultants Inc. ( RCI ) a Technology, New Jersey have joined hands together to provide internship, part-time and full-time opportunities for qualified individuals through School-To-Work Day Program.
Work for Peace, Inc. (WFP, Inc.) was founded on the belief that one of the most effective ways to improve the quality of life of an individual of any age is to give them the knowledge and skills necessary to secure a job paying a living wage. They believe that living wage jobs lead to peace of mind, peace in communities and peace in the world. WFP Inc.’s mission is to provide the work skills training, career exposure and job placement youth and adults need to succeed in a rewarding career. To achieve this objective WFP, Inc. has partnered with the international staffing firm Rangam Consultants, Inc. to provide internship, part-time and full-time opportunities for qualified individuals participating in their programs. The Rangam team understands what skills are required by corporations for placement. Together Rangam and WFP, Inc. utilize the book School To Work To Success to ensure that the individuals participating in WFP, Inc. programs learn the skills that are most important to finding and succeeding in a job. To increase exposure of students to role models and career opportunities they utilize a program created by WFP, Inc. Founder Dale G. Caldwell called School-To-Work Day©. This unique program exposes students to life at the workplace and motivates them to seriously consider careers in business and the professions. In addition, the program motivates some corporations to set up internships with students from the participating school districts. During School-To-Work Day© students from one or more public schools visit a corporate, government or nonprofit organization to learn about careers that they otherwise might never know about. This is not a shadow day. Instead, it is an inspiring career education day organized by human resource professionals, corporate leaders and teachers.
Impact of School-To-Work Day©
Since its inception School-To-Work Day© has taken place in 11 countries and 72 cities. Organizations like City National Bank, Clark-Atlanta Business School, Deloitte & Touche, Dobbs, DuPont, Hilton Hotels, ILIFF School of Theology, Marriott Hotels, Rohm & Haas, Texaco, United Airlines and many others helped to change the lives of students with this program. In the inaugural year of the international program Mayors and Governors in 12 Cities and 10 States issued special proclamations to honor this unique program. Students from all over the world have stated that they are now considering careers as accountants, pilots, engineers, management consultants, flight attendants, computer programmers, lawyers, marketing executives, financial officers, human resources directors and bank managers because of their participation in School-To-Work Day©.
