  Job Description

  • Reporting to the Head of Alternative Partnership & Licensing, the Strategic Integration / Project Manager will help to manage post-signing asset divestures to licensees and optimize triage activities of new opportunities with internal stakeholders to drive value of a new build-to-buy model.
  • Through exceptional leadership, strong cross-functional alignment and collaboration with multiple groups, this dual pronged role ensures cohesive engagement across organizations to achieve both buy- and sell-side objectives.
  • The individual will develop alliance and integration success metrics and reporting tools, while overseeing the “dis-integration” experience.

  • Organize meetings of parties to enable technology transfer per License Agreement(s)
  • Track completion of contractual obligations and monitor extent of technical assistance
  • Establish agendas for such meetings including assisting in the preparation of presentations by joint working groups and document meeting actions and assignments of responsibilities
  • Align strategic plans, establish common understanding of the operational framework, define “playbooks” and templates and drive governance bodies to ensure alliance / out-licensing progress and issue resolution
  • Identify operational issues or performance deficits and raise such concerns to Sr. leaders
  • Assist with internal and external communications regarding the partnerships, including but not limited to company’s Discovery leadership, to ensure all activities support planned objectives and are an effective expenditure of resources
  • Cultivate and develop strong relationships with key constituents, alliance partners, and licensees
  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, cross-functional management, and negotiations skills and be credible, dynamic, and results-oriented partner willing to work successfully in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A BS/BA and MBA required; advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, or MD/PhD or equivalent) optional.
  • 5-8 years’ progressive leadership experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and/or consulting industry, including managing external relationships.
  • Polished executive presence and strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), as well as impeccable relationship and interpersonal skills to navigate organizations with diplomacy and with individuals across levels.
  • Deep experience and demonstrated track record of having directly managed successful B2B relationships and/or multi-program alliances.
  • Keen understanding of and interest in learning about the pharmaceutical / biotech industry: scientific drug development process, product development, and regulatory concepts.
  • Autonomous, hands-on project manager adept at identifying priorities, managing cross-functional teams, and aligning strategic and tactical plans.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment with the perseverance and problem solving skills to achieve results
