  Job Description

The successful candidate will work closely with Enterprise Architecture group, as well as with other contractors, and staff resources, of different TEC Units, and Departments throughout the Agency to monitor, address and fix problems while delivering work products.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Enterprise Architecture Group Solution Architect, the successful candidate is an experienced Virtualization system administrator with solid technical skill sets, to help the Authority manage and migrate VMware to Hyper-V infrastructures. This individual is responsible to ensure virtualization issues related to Hosts or VMs are address and resolve in a timely manner.
  • Support the current and future PA Hyper-V infrastructure:
    • Manage Microsoft Hyper-V infrastructure with experience in leveraging Microsoft Virtual Machine Manager.
    • Configure and manage Hyper-V Clusters across multiple data centers
    • Configure stretch Hyper-V clusters across multiple locations.
    • Configure the guarded fabric to support shielded VM.
    • Create custom templates to deploy VM.
    • Develop PowerShell scripts for automation.
    • Configure IBM 7000 series storage system.
    • Perform end to end migration of VMs from VMware to Hyper-V hosts.
    • Perform end to end migration of VMs from Hyper-V to Azure.
    • Manage Windows Systems infrastructure, experience in 2012 R2 through 2016 OS.
    • Monitor ongoing virtual environment health such as storage capacity, host bottlenecks.
    • Develop documentation including Architecture design, operation guide and VMware migration guide.
  • Support and update the current VMware environment:
    • Manage VMware vSphere 6.5.
    • Configure the ESX host and key management infrastructure to support VM Encryption.
    • Configure IBM 7000 series storage system.
    • Monitor ongoing virtual environment health.
    • Manage Windows Systems infrastructure, experience in 2008 through 2016 OS Additional Skills:
  • An excellent problem-solver, able to quickly grasp complex systems and identify opportunities for improvements and resolution of critical issues.
  • Collaborate with internal and external users to determine requirements and negotiate with stakeholders to resolve conflicting system needs.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to work effectively with others supporting both physical and virtual infrastructure.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience, or four years’ experience in virtualization server administration
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience working with Hyper-V and VMware infrastructures.
  • 8+ years Systems Administration experience on Windows OS and Active Directory.
  • Experience with Blade Servers and Storage products
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent English oral, written and listening communication skills
  • Must be willing and able to support initiatives occasionally during off-hours
