  Job Description

  • This job description applies to the capital project to create a new Gene Therapy facility on the company site in Sanford, NC.
  • This role will report to the startup lead and is expected to be 12 months in duration.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead startup and commissioning of utility systems and process equipment.
  • MUST HAVE “hands on” utility energization and equipment commissioning experience.
  • Responsible for safe startup of systems. Perform safety risk assessments to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, interact and collaborate with team members and external stakeholders is essential.
  • Planning of daily activities and coordination of multiple startup activities.
  • Approve and coordinate work to be performed each day for multiple systems in an area.
  • Conduct field coordination meetings using Organizational Risk Management boards to identify all hazards and determine mitigation strategies.
  • Development of Safe Plan of Action for all tasks.
  • Valve alignments
  • LOTO
  • Signage and barricades
  • Completing installation documentation
  • Energization of utilities and equipment per written startup plans
  • Commissioning of utilities and equipment per written commissioning plans
  • Verification of utilities and equipment per written verification plans
  • Walk down of mechanical and process systems for acceptance by commissioning team.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Construction management discipline
BASIC-MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 10 years of field experience in Pharma startup and commissioning
  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs and electrical single line drawings
  • “Hands on” utility energization and equipment commissioning experience.
