  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow instruction both verbal and written
  • Ability to follow all companies policies and procedures
  • Understanding basic Machine shop safety procedures
  • Understanding of lock-out-tag procedures
  • Basic knowledge in the operation including but not limited to Mills, Surface Grinders, Lathes, Heat treat oven, Drill Press, Hydraulic press, etc.
  • Have a basic understanding of the use and application of hand/power tools and the ability to determine the kinds of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Basic knowledge in blueprint reading including but not limited to Dies, mechanical, etc.
  • Have the ability to work math problems
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Ability to read micrometer, calibers, filler gauges, Rockwell hardness tester , dial indicators etc.
  • Have the ability to work with close supervision Tool & Die Technician 2 (Semi-skilled)
  • Under minimal supervision; have knowledge in the installation, maintenance and repair of industrial/mechanical equipment common to manufacturing facilities;
  • Including but limited to die operation in stamping machines and repairs of dies, roll-forming operation, stamping operations and mechanical components in manufacturing machinery.
  • Have a good understanding of the use and application of hand/power tools and the ability to determine the kinds of tools and equipment needed to do a job
  • A good knowledge in blueprint reading including but not limited to dies, mechanical, part prints as related to stamping and forming dies, facility with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, dies and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed with minimal supervision.
  • A good understanding of various test equipment including but not limited to caliber, dial indicator, heat treat procedures, Rockwell harness tester, micrometers, etc.
  • A knowledge of different grinding application including but not limited to, Grinding different radius, angles, and flat surfaces with minimal supervisions. Tool
  • Ability to design, build fixtures, die components , go/no-go gauges to improve productivity.
  • Ability to form grinding wheels to perform different radius and angles.
  • Ability to weld including but not limited to mig, tig, stick, aluminum welding, braze, silver solder etc.
  • Ability to operate and correct use of an acetylene torch
  • Understanding of metallurgy
  • Ability to weld various types of medals
