  Job Description

What will you do?

  • Equipment/Instrument Management
    • Coordinate preventative maintenance, calibration, daily system initializations, and repair service of equipment and instruments
    • Maintain analytical instrumentation, lab automation tools, equipment and order parts/accessories
    • Work with external vendors for sourcing and purchasing equipment and supplies
    • Support laboratory/equipment software installations and upgrades/updates
    • Maintain online tracking tool to manage instrument usage and operational status
    • Review freezer and refrigerator alarm data and resolve temperature excursion issues as they arise and serving as point-of-contact when alarms go off to triage and resolve
    • Track equipment use/PMs/calibration/maintenance in logbook
  • Laboratory Housekeeping
    • Help ensure general tidiness of facility and adherence to 5S principles
    • Support the Lab Safety Officer(s) to ensure laboratory safety and EH&S compliance
    • Initiate work orders for equipment repairs, maintenance, installation, and removal
    • Clean/decontaminate equipment and hood surfaces contaminated with hazardous materials
    • Organize regularly scheduled lab cleanout activities
  • Inventory Maintenance and Shipping
    • Review equipment and lab consumables scheduling updates, issues, action items, requests, etc.
    • Order and organize laboratory reagents and consumables to ensure accuracy and to support high-throughput experimentation
    • Generate purchase orders, shipping documents, equipment orders
    • Handle incoming/outgoing shipments of biological samples
  • May use specialized electronic systems
  • Provides general guidance and technical expertise to peers and clients

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree- Any science related degree

Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:

  • Must have previous experience managing lab operations
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, SOPs, and SDS.
  • Knowledge of fundamental laboratory techniques
